Writing and Publishing

Reading and writing are intertwined in the development of literacy skills. When students engage in the creation of texts, their understanding of literacy conventions develops significantly. In library classes, Year 7 students are provided with opportunities to extend their writing by undertaking a publishing project to create a finished book that can be shared with their peers.

The content for the books is drawn from work completed during their English lessons. Students have the option to select their own finished text and learn the art of book publishing to turn this text into a finshed book that can be shared.
